What Are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants offer an immediate permanent alternative for missing teeth, dentures, and for people losing their teeth. So even if your mouth is a complete mess we can transform it to give you the smile of your dreams.
In simple terms they are titanium rods or screws that are fixed to the jawbone. An extension is then secured to the implant and a new crown is placed to match the colour and contours of the existing teeth.
Implants also enable crowns and bridges to be solidly held in place over an extended period of time—usually for a lifetime—and look, feel and function like real teeth.

Anyone who is missing one or more teeth due to injury, disease or decay may be a candidate for dental implants. The main limitation is the amount of available bone. At your first consultation, your dentist will evaluate whether dental implants are a viable solution for you, and the best course of action.
Occasionally, older patients express concern that their age may prevent them from enjoying the benefits of dental implants. However, health is more of a determining factor than age.
If you're healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you're probably healthy enough to receive dental implants!
Most importantly, dental implants often improve quality of life in a very concrete way. 1: Before the implant procedure
After picking you up at the airport, our English-speaking dentist, Dr. Marek Salka will make a first examination / consultation and take one or more x-rays of the area to prepare for the procedure.
2: Installing the dental implant
The implant will be installed under anesthesia. afterwards, a temporary tooth is provided that allows you eat and function like normal almost immediately. We will then drive you back to the airport. The implant will need a few months to integrate with the jawbone before the next visit is made (typically 3 month lower jaw, 6 months upper jaw).
3: Attaching the new crown
Your 2nd visit will require the placement of the permanent ceramic tooth. The new tooth is installed for life. No additional treatment is needed.
4: End result
You can expect to smile a lot, and feel that the new tooth fits and functions just like a natural tooth.

The Problem:
Mr C suffered from receding gums and one of his front teeth on his bottom jaw became loose. This tooth needed to be extracted, leaving a gap. Not wanting to waiting for an NHS dentist, he looked for a cheaper and quicker alternative.
The Solution:
After looking through a few websites, he decided to come to our clinic in Piestany, Slovakia, simply because he felt it was the right one. All options were discussed between Dr. Marek Salka and he felt he did not want a bridge as this would involve preparation of the adjoining teeth for the bridge to adhere to.
After careful consideration it was decided that a single implant would be the most suitable and preferable option. Why not? He said he was receiving 5* dental treatment at a fraction of the cost. This implant enabled the tooth to be permanently replaced without affecting the adjoining teeth.
