Canine teeth

Canine teeth are also called cuspids or fangs if referring to the upper jaw teeth. They are usually stronger and longer than other teeth but not always, so they may be confused with incisors. Canine teeth are situated on either side of incisors (see illustration below).

There are four canines; two maxillary (upper) canines and two mandibular (lower) canines.
