Dental porcelain is a composite ceramic used extensively within dentistry, principally to form bridges, crowns and new teeth. Dental porcelain can also be used to form caps and veneers. Dental porcelain can be formed to correspond with the color and shape of preexisting enamel teeth. Dental porcelain may be fused with a metallic core to increase the strength of a crown or new tooth.
