Frequently Asked Question’s
When calculating dental costs abroad you probably have many questions. We have answered some of the most frequently asked questions, but if you don’t see your question and answer here, please feel free to contact us.
I live in the UK why should I choose dental care abroad?
This answer is easy, cost. A dental implant in the UK can cost up to £2,500 ($4,000 in the USA), but at Dental Holiday you will pay only £891 with a lifetime guarantee. Crowns, bridges and veneers are also much less expensive. For example, an all ceramic crown and porcelain veneer can cost just £297 each. Again, you can expect to pay 50-70 % more in the UK and USA. We offer initial quotes by email so the more information you give us the better the quote. At Dental Holiday all X-rays, consultation and examinations are free! Ninety-seven percent of Dental Holiday UK patients rate us as easy to use and very satisfied with their dental treatment.
Can I get an experienced dentist?
Yes, Dental Holiday has been reviewed as the top dental clinic abroad. At Dental Holiday our premier dentist, Dr. Marek Salka has been working with UK patients since 2006. He has performed over 1,000’s of dental implants, crowns and porcelain veneers.
How do I know the materials are good quality?
At Dental Holiday we use only the best quality products and will let you know before you arrive what products we will be using. We don’t use mumbo jumbo jargon or fast talking phrases to confuse you. If you are comparing our products to the UK please make sure you are comparing apples to apples, not apples and oranges. We’ll tell you about our products so you can make sure you have the same information from your UK dentist.
How many visits will it take for me to complete my treatment?
At your first consultation with Dr. Marek you will find out what is entailed in the treatment and the number of visits. Most dental implants will take 2 to 3 visits in as many months for healing purposes. Crowns, veneers and bridges can be completed in just one visit of 4-5 working days.
Where are you located?
Dental Holiday is located in the spa town of Piestany, Slovakia (hence the name holiday). Piestany is only about 45 minutes drive north from Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia and sits on the River Vah. There are many parks with easy walking paths. You can enjoy our thermal waters and mud baths on Spa Island and have a sauna or massage at one of the many salons in the city.
Ok, but how much does it cost for travel, accommodations and transportation?
We have flats in the center of town for a reasonable price and have arrangements with local hotels. Most costs are around €30-35 a night. Transportation to and from Bratislava or Vienna airport is FREE! There are flights daily on Ryan Air (www.ryanair.com) to Bratislava and weekly from many other airlines in and around the London area. Please use CastlePool website to find the exact cost for flights from your closest UK city to Bratislava, Slovakia. You should expect to stay at least one night and probably two. Even with expenses for accommodations and travel, your savings choosing dental care abroad will still be quite good.
What about the language? Will I be able to communicate in English?
Yes! The Dental Holiday staff speaks English as does Dr. Marek.
This all sounds good, but what about hidden costs?
Choosing Dental Holiday means there are no hidden costs. For example, the quote for the dental implant is fixed as are the costs for crowns, how many you want or need, bridges, fillings, extractions, etc. We are very clear about what treatment(s) we are providing, the products we are using, how long it will take, and how many visits over what period of time. We are transparent with our pricing. Check out our price list. We provide transportation to and from the Bratislava or Vienna airports and will arrange all your accommodations.
